CONFIRMATION MASS DATE 2016  (Posted July 23, 2015)

Dear 2nd Year Confirmation Parent,  We had planned to ask the Archbishop’s Office  for a February date for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  However, due to the Bishops’ calendars and having only one Auxiliary Bishop, we are not able to get a date in February for Confirmation and not through Lent – Easter.  Confirmation will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Parish in the Spring, after Easter.  More details to follow when we do receive a date from the Archbishop’s Office.

Blessings!                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Dan Faloon

Catholic Prayers                                                                                                                            In partnership with parents and students, we have set an ongoing goal encouraging and assisting children to learn their basic Catholic Prayers.  Click on the following link to learn more:

TO MEMORIZE OR NOT TO MEMORIZE     Why children and all of us should learn our basic prayers.     Prayers can be a source of strength, comfort and consolation in difficult times and at the time when a person is seriously ill or near death… especially when loved ones are gathered by their side and they hear their loved ones praying these prayers.

BE MY DISCIPLES                                                                                                                          In the Fall of 2012, we began using the newly published BE MY DISCIPLES Program Grades 1-6.  Learn more @  http://www.bemydisciples.com/

On the Catechists/Teachers web page, click on the “Content Charts and Correlation”  link and then the “Scope & Sequence” link.  This will give you detailed information about every lesson from Grade 1 through Grade 6.

At the end of each lesson in the children’s workbook, there is a page WITH MY FAMILY, which includes a quick summary of what your child learned in the lesson;  Sharing God’s Word; We Live as Disciples; and Our Spiritual Journey.

If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Dan Faloon,              Director of Religious Education @ faloon@usfca.edu or 415-422-2195.
